It is always a gamble to watch a series based on a comic book, you could either end up hating it or be obsessed with it. And obsession is a keyword when we’re talking about Riverdale. Based on the comic book series Archie comics, Riverdale is a mystery drama which is quite surprising as the comics was mostly humorous. However, irrespective of your love or hate for the comics, Riverdale paints Archie (KJ Apa) and his friends as interesting and mysterious characters that you can’t get enough of.
Among many shady characters in Riverdale, perhaps the most beloved is Jughead which might partly be due to the fact that it is played by Cole Sprouse. As Jughead is also the narrator of the series, Sprouse’s soothing voiceover constantly reminds us how Riverdale was a picture-perfect small town hiding layers of its true darkness right until Jason Blossom’s death which shook things up and set the story in motion. Similar to first season, second season also opens with another murder, the blackhood killing and takes a darker turn.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RIVERDALE SEASON 3
As expected of hyped up series, Riverdale has been renewed for Season 3 as well which according to US network The CW, will air on October 10, 2018. There will reportedly be 23 episodes in the third season of the show – one more than season two. It is expected that Archie (KJ Apa), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) will most likely be back however, given the history of untimely deaths in the show, the other characters aren’t so safe.
Rumor has it that the third season will focus less on deaths (about time!) and more on family and relationships. There will be a few months of time jump as the show will pick up on Labor Day weekend. Since it will be on September, the squad will be starting third season with a new school year. We are most excited about the confirmed parents’ flashback episode where the kids will be playing their younger selves. This means KJ Apa will be playing a young Fred Andrews, Lili Reinhart a young Alice, Camila Mendes a young Hermione and most weirdly, Cole Sprouse a young FP.
Fans have been throwing a fit and most of them don’t seem to be very keen about this decision of casting. But there is so much hidden history among the parents and we’re finally going to know what it is all about!
The main conflict of season three will surround the arrest of Archie for the murder of Cassidy. Achie in jail may be heartbreaking but perhaps a treat for our eyes? It also looks like we’ll finally meet Jughead’s family and we wonder how much of a baggage they’ll bring along. Another scene in season 3 to look forward to will be Alice in a serpent jacket.  And of course our guilty pleasure of shipping characters together might get chaotic.
Will there be a crossover between Riverdale and another Archie comics show The Chilling Adventures on Sabrina?
However, this million dollar question still gives us jitters. Ashleigh Murray, who stars as Josie McCoy completely denies this crossover. In an interview with Vulture, Lili Reinhart (Betty) implied that Sabrina will not exist within the same universe as Riverdale, and Betty will never make appearance on the Netflix show. Since we do not have a concrete answer from the production companies, we can always hope!
